This novel was a treat: kind people; a minimal but meaningful story line. The middle section describing the island was especially enjoyable: a brief look at what sustainable development could be like - how to build something beautiful and useful while maintaining its intrinsic value. Mostly I appreciated the absence of manipulated drama for its own sake: no vicious bodily or verbal attacks, no friends who out of the blue turned enemies for trivial reasons. And the whole story being told with a kind sense of humor.

This has all the aspects of a sitcom & drama! The story is crazy but the way it's written makes it believable. It's funny & dramatic at the same time. The husband could easily be any man in the corporate world. The fact that a woman goes undercover to prove herself is refreshing & relatable. People would not treat her the same if they knew who she really was & would think she just got the job because of her husband. Love it!!

So far I has been a good read. A little slow. Chapters seem short. No glaring issues with details not matching from earlier chapters to current chapters being read. I would recommend reading. I have laughed out loud several times. So far I has been a good read. A little slow. Chapters seem short. Im on chapter 40 of this book and so far all I can say is that I am enthralled by it. I can only hope it stays this way. We are just starting to see the characters personalities come out and how they work together. They are serious, funny and very food driven which helps make the characters relatable. Although they are very different from each other you can see how they fit together and how although I’m very sure they will have ups and downs they will have each other’s backs.

Kimani and Alaric are beginning to have feelings for each other. I wonder when they will both acknowledge it and give it a go. Acting as an undercover employee will be interesting, it will be an opportunity for Alaric to understand what happens in his own organisation and flush out, employees like Ada who are vipers and bully others. I can’t wait for when Kimani meets Alaric’s friends and their opinions on their relationship. I think someone is in love.
