I really like this novel. The author has done a great job, creating a strong female character that is also extremely vulnerable. I've never read a bear shifter before. And I do like it, and it is different. I can't wait to see how orion handles Knox, both mentally and physically. How's the like? This author is not afraid to throw in a little bit of gore, which I feel like, is innate with the animalistic natures of these characters. I'm also grateful that the main female character is plus size. And that it's actually kind of downplayed throughout the novel.

I am really enjoying this novel at this point. The author did a wonderful job of making me hate Knox right away. She has described everything to the point that I do not have to strain to “see” everything as though I am watching a movie. I was a little surprised to find out that Roland was a woman. In my experience the name Roland is usually given to men. No complaints, just surprised. Maybe a nickname like “Roe” would’ve made it less of a surprise I completely agree that different words should be used for certain aspects of the story since it is about a bear clan. I really like the use of soulbond and matriarch (instead of Luna) as the terms usually used are actually werewolf terms. I am having trouble with clan leader instead of alpha. Although technically correct, there has to be a better term to use.
